Crisis Migration: An International Perspective
Öffentlicher Vortrag von Dr. Seth J. Schwartz (USA)
Crisis migration – the mass relocation of individuals and families following major natural or human disasters – has increased exponentially during the 21st century. Thousands or millions of Iraqis, Syrians, Venezuelans, Puerto Ricans, Ukrainians, and Afghanis have been displaced over the last 20 years. Crisis migrants arrive in their new homelands with very different family, mental health, housing, employment, and other needs than other types of migrants do. I will present a summary of our work with Puerto Rican, Venezuelan, and Ukrainian crisis migrants in the United States and elsewhere since 2017.
